When is the last time you went camping? My family used to go camping often when I was growing up. It was so much fun to all be together, roughing it in the middle of the woods in a campground!
Camp Near Hersheypark
Camping can be such a fun experience for families, but can you imagine combining camping AND an amusement park? You can do both at the Hersheypark Camping Resort!
Located just two miles south of Hersheypark, the Hersheypark Camping Resort is the place to stay if you want to have a camping experience and visit the park or go to a concert while in Hershey, PA!
While at the Sweet Welcome media event, I was given a tour of the Hersheypark Camping Resort. This post is hosted.
I had no idea such a nice and fun campground existed so close to Hersheypark! As a bonus, this campground is considered one of the official Hershey Resorts, so you get many of the free benefits that you get at the other resorts, like at the Hershey Lodge.
Campsites at Hersheypark Camping Resort
There are a few options for campsites, including sites for tents and campers/RVs. When we drove through on our tour, all of the campsites looked so clean and well maintained.
Tent sites are available in both primitive (aka old school camping) and hook ups for water, electricity, and cable. Water is available seasonally, from mid-April through November 5. Restrooms/showers located in the Historic Landis Barn are available year-round.
All of the tent campsites include a fire ring and picnic table. Perfect for outdoor eating and campfires (and s’mores!).
Note: If you subscribe to my newsletters, the free printable S’mores menu will be in the Resource Library.
If you choose to bring your camper or RV, there are sites available with a variety of hook ups that include water, electricity, and cable. Just like the tent sites, water is available seasonally, and restrooms and showers are in the Historic Landis Barn.
All of the RV sites also include a fire ring and picnic table, just like the tent sites.
Are There Cabins at the Hersheypark Camping Resort?
Yes! If you don’t have an RV or don’t like tent camping (me!!), there are cabins at the Hersheypark Camping Resort.
I have to say, these were my favorite sites at the campground! After my last camping experience (involving big animals outside of my tent in the middle of the night…shudder…), I would definitely choose to camp in a cabin.
There are basic log cabins, which don’t have indoor plumbing and sleep up to four people.
Extended log cabins also don’t have indoor plumbing, but these sleep up to eight people.
My favorite would have to be the Deluxe Log Cabins. These cabins have indoor plumbing, including a bathroom and a shower. They can sleep up to 7 people.
I just love how cozy and clean these Deluxe Cabins looked! I like the little ‘living room’ area with the desk and couch, and the kitchen was really convenient.
I know. It’s not true camping. But for me? This is probably as close to camping as I’d get again!
