Keep Young Athletes Hydrated in the Summer

Being an athlete in the summer can be rough. Between the heat and humidity, it can be easy to get dehydrated. It’s so important to keep young athletes hydrated in the summer so they can be at their best and stay healthy.
My son goes to karate lessons in the summer. The facility, while very clean and well maintained, is not air conditioned, so the kids get hot and thirsty real fast. Since my son isn’t too thrilled about drinking just water and prefers sports drinks, I was excited about the opportunity he would have to try BODYARMOR Sports Drink.
What is BODYARMOR?
BODYARMOR is a premium sports drink with potassium-packed electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins. It has no artificial flavors or sweeteners. Because it has no artificial flavors or sweeteners, it’s a better alternative to other sports drinks.
It provides superior hydration for active athletes and comes in 9 flavors:
- fruit punch,
- orange mango,
- strawberry banana,
- tropical punch,
- blackout berry,
- mixed berry,
- grape,
- watermelon strawberry
- and lemonade.
My karate kid chose to bring the Lemonade flavor to his karate lesson on a very hot day. He and his classmates went through a pretty intense lesson, all the way from the warm up to the sparring they had to do with extra equipment on. For a full forty-five minutes, the kids were going non-stop in a very warm room with gloves and helmets on, using the sparring skills they had been practicing for the past few weeks.
Could you imagine being in a hot room doing an intense workout with all that gear on? I’d be stopping for a drink every five minutes!
Needless to say, he was sweaty and hot after his lesson. He was grateful that I had the BODYARMOR drink ready to go. The poor kid was drenched in sweat and so tired!
After gathering up his gear, he chugged the rest of the bottle outside. He told me to make sure that I brought another bottle for him for his next lesson since it tasted so good.
As his mom, I’m glad that he likes BODYARMOR and would prefer it over the other sports drinks. I like that it has no artificial flavors or sweeteners and that it has potassium-packed electrolytes to refresh him after such an intense workout.
We’ll be bringing the other flavors with us to the next few practices, and I’m going to be sure to stock up on more.

I tried this a few weeks back. My wife grabbed one of these instead of a Gatorade for me. I was pleasantly surprised at the taste. I would certainly have another!
