Mother’s Day Traditions
[bctt tweet=”If I had a flower for each time I thought of my mother, I could walk in my garden forever -Anon”]
Do you have a favorite Mother’s Day tradition? I am very into traditions, and one of my favorite Mother’s Day traditions is planting a flower garden with my kiddos.
My husband and I aren’t big on getting crazy gifts from the kids for Mother’s or Father’s Day (we’re just very practical people) but my Mother’s Day gift every year is flowers that I can plant in our flower garden. It’s a gift that lasts all spring and summer, and it’s an activity that my kiddos can help with.
Memories. To me, this is all about creating memories. Some day, when my kiddos are planting their own gardens, I hope that they would think of the times we spent together as a family, digging in the dirt and sprinkling on the water so that our little seeds or little plants can grow.
We had fun planting flowers this year thanks to Personal Creations and ProPlants, who provided us with this lovely personalized galvanized tin planter tub and a variety of flowers to plant.
My lil’ lady helped with the planting this year. Big brother was helping Daddy with the lawn care and lil’ guy was busy picking dandelions.
So far, it doesn’t look like much, but with a little love, these plants are going to bloom into beautiful blossoms that are supposed to attract hummingbirds and butterflies. We can’t wait to see them!
Over the next few days, we’ll be adding in more flowers, like these little blossoms I picked up. I promised the boys that they can help me plant those.
Love grows here. These flowers are planted with love. They are loved all season long.
And I love that they give us the chance to grow as a family.
That’s my Mother’s Day tradition.
What is yours?

Hi Marissa, Hope you have a blesses and very happy Mother’s Day. I know you will. What a lovely idea with the garden. Lia is going to be such a little lady, I love that face.
Even though I’m the mother I buy a little present for my daughters every year for being good mommies. I started doing that years ago when Shelly’s kids were too small to get her anything and Mike couldn’t so I did and kept it up and of course for Marinda too after she had Olivia. They come over after church and I give them their little gifts and then we go out for dinner. It’s a nice day.

This is a really cute idea! I like the idea of having the tub with the name on it so everyone knows who’s little garden it is!!
