Why Sunscreen is Still Important in Fall and Winter
Summer is over. Chances are, you wore sunscreen quite often during the summer, if not every day, right? Do you still wear it, even though summer is over?
Believe it or not, even when summer is over, you should still apply sunscreen on your face. Why?
- Even in the fall or winter when the sun isn’t at it’s highest point in the sky, you can get a sunburn on exposed skin.
- The rays of the sun still contain harmful UV rays that can damage skin, causing skin cancer, brown spots, premature aging skin, and wrinkles.
Those are definitely reasons why I wear sunscreen on my face ALL of the time! I mean, I want my grandkids one day to admire my gently aged skin, don’t you? How can you not want these benefits:
- younger looking skin
- protected skin from harmful UV rays (no skin cancer or brown spots!)
- moisturized skin during times when skin can get dry due to dry air

Sunscreen for the Face in Fall or Winter
Skinn Cosmetics sent me their Collagensis Daily Defense Sunscreen to review. I was glad they contacted me about it because it can be hard to find a facial sunscreen that is lightweight and good for sensitive skin. Since I have reviewed their Skinn Naturals Triple Relief System in the past and loved it, I knew I had to give this sunscreen a try.
According to Skinn Cosmetics:
Skinn’s Collagenesis Daily Defense is an elegant, ultra-light and quickly absorbing serum formulated with an advanced encapsulated delivery system for immediate and long-term moisturization as well as a full array of Vitamins A, C and E to provide ongoing antioxidant protection against free radical damage. Features Oat Beta-Glucan, a powerful naturally derived anti-aging ingredient that perfectly complements this protective formula by soothing previously damaged skin tissues while helping inhibit the formation of new damage.
I love the fact that the Collagensis Daily Defense Sunscreen is:
- fragrance free
- really light weight.
I wear this sunscreen under my makeup every day now. Before I apply any makeup, I apply the Collagensis Daily Defense Sunscreen on my face and let it dry. It feels great on my skin and does not make me break out, which is something that I can’t say for other facial sunscreens (I have very, very sensitive skin). I then apply my makeup and have sun protection all day.
