Find out what’s new at Hersheypark, including details about Hershey’s Chocolatetown.
What’s New at Hersheypark?
In the past two years, Hersheypark has made some new and exciting changes to the park. Not only did they add new rides (hello Candymonium and Reese’s Cupfusion!), they also are in the process of completing a major project that includes a grand new entrance called Hershey’s Chocolatetown.
As a member of the 2021 Sweetest Families, I’m delighted to share with you what I know about these new additions!
What is Hershey’s Chocolatetown?
Hershey’s Chocolatetown is part of the new entrance to Hersheypark. Here you can see what it looks like when you enter from Chocolate World.
Outside the gates, Hershey’s Chocolatetown includes:
- Hersheypark Supply Co., a shop for Hersheypark themed merchandise
- Chocolatetown Treats, a place for cinnamon bread, hand rolled pretzels, and more
- Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor, where you can create your own ice cream creations
- The Sweeterie, gourmet desserts and treats
- The Chocolatier Restaurant Bar + Patio, a full service restaurant
- Ticketing Services, for tickets and season passes
- Wheelchair Rentals
Just saying, the Hersheypark Supply Co. is pretty sweet. We love the ride-themed merchandise, including the new pinwheel designs on shirts, mugs, hats, and more! If you’re a Full Size or King Size season pass holder, you can get 15% off!
Inside the gates, Hershey’s Chocolatetown includes:
- Candymonium Shop, for all things Candymonium
- HP Collections, for sweet apparel and collectibles
- Candymonium, Hersheypark’s 15th coaster
- Starbucks, a full service coffee shop
- Hyperdeck, a virtual reality experience
- The Historic Carousel, celebrating over 100 years of existence
- Kisses Fountain, a water fountain in the shape of a Hershey Kiss
If you love roller coasters, Candymonium is a blast! Don’t forget to take a picture in front of the Kisses Fountain or take a ride on the Historic Carousel too!
TIP: Are you a Starbucks Rewards member? While you can’t use your app to redeem stars for a free beverage/food item, you can still earn stars on purchases and use gift cards through the app. Also a Full Size or King Size Hersheypark season pass holder? Use your pass to get 15% off your order!
Take a Tour Through Chocolatetown
We visited Chocolatetown recently and made a video to show what it currently looks like. As you can see, some of the attractions are not open just yet.
About the Newest Dining Experiences at Hersheypark
The Sweeterie Confectionery Kitchen is led by Chef Cher Harris, Corporate Pastry Chef. There you’ll find a collection of mouth-watering confections including chocolate-dipped treats, decadent desserts, signature hand-crafted fudge, and more.
The Sweeterie is located on the first floor next to the Hersheypark Supply Co and will be opening April 2nd.
Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor is inspired by Mr. Hershey’s early ventures in sweetness that came before his famous chocolate factory. Expert Ice Creamologists will craft custom creations from house-made ice cream, Hershey’s candy toppings, decadent sauces, and more.
Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor is located on the first floor next to the Hersheypark Supply Co and will be opening April 2nd.
The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio features past and present pieces from the Hersheypark ride collection, one-of-a-kind views of neighboring attractions, and a second story patio with a bar. The Chocolatier celebrates the life and legacy of Mr. Hershey by continuing to bring people together for happiness, fun, and of course, chocolate.
The Chocolatier Restaurant is located on the second floor above the Hersheypark Supply Co and will be opening Memorial Day Weekend.
Do You Need Tickets for Chocolatetown?
Part of Chocolatetown is actually before the gates to Hersheypark, so you can visit some of the stores and restaurants without needing a ticket to get in!
For the parts of Chocolatetown that are inside the gates (see the list above), you’ll need a ticket or season pass to get in.
You may need to pay for parking, unless you are a Full Size or King Size season ticket holder.
Is Hershey’s Chocolatetown Open?
During the off season, some of Hershey’s Chocolatetown is open to the public, including the Hersheypark Supply Co. and Ticketing Services, currently open daily 10am-5:30pm.
Once the park officially opens in the Spring, the rest of Chocolatetown (except for The Chocolatier) will be open to the public daily.
As season pass holders, we take the kids over to ZooAmerica (open all year and free for passholders!) and then we go to Chocolatetown and Chocolate World, which is right next to Chocolatetown. It’s a nice day trip and the kids love it!
When Does Hersheypark Open?
The first day of Springtime in the Park in 2021 is April 2nd. The park will be open for select days in April before beginning the summer season in May.
